New ai-powered capabilities support major case and individual investigations...12 July, 2024.
Fijishi today introduced AI-powered decision optimization solutions for the global insurance industry availabile as case management for claims fraud detection. Fijishi Claims Fraud Detection provides an end-to-end workflow designed to meet the specific needs of Insurance Orgs as they investigate suspicious claims from referral to closure.
Insurers are subject to more than $300 billion in fraudulent claims per year. While effective detection is a crucial step in mitigating fraud, insurers also need an efficient method for managing, reporting and understanding the impact of the investigated claim on claims costs. Without an integrated approach, insurers face time-consuming investigations where they are forced to balance multiple systems and manual document collection, which may also expose them to regulatory and compliance issues. Fijishi’s integrated case management module addresses these concerns by providing a self-contained, AI-powered environment with the functionality and tools required to take an investigation from initiation to completion in the most effective, efficient and complete manner possible. “When considering how to best combat insurance fraud it is important to remember that finding the suspicious claim is just the beginning of the process for claims professionals and investigators. The resulting investigation will determine if the claim is legitimate or not. As such, it is important for insurers to have access to tools that can manage and guide their efforts to help them reach the best outcome possible.” Fijishi spearheads the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to help insurance professionals make the best decisions possible throughout the claims and underwriting lifecycle. Now, Fijishi is advancing the state of the art in case management by applying AI to this important business function. Fijishi’s case management solution offers key capabilities including:
Unified and Integrated Fraud Investigation Management
The solution supports end-to-end workflow from referral generation to impact management across all lines of business and referral sources. As such, the case management module’s UI, workflows and reporting are seamlessly integrated with the fraud detection system already in use which allows for direct access to all of the internal and external data sources relevant to investigating the case. This enables efficient case investigations by eliminating the need for investigators to switch between disparate, siloed environments — which often occurs when using stand-alone case management tools — as they move from the detection to investigation phase.
Designed for Individual and Major Case Investigations
Recognizing that all cases are unique, Fijishi’s case management module includes capabilities designed to support the most complex multi-claim provider and network investigations as well as opportunistic and/or individual fraud. These include tailored workflows, network visualization and exploration, and advanced documentation for understanding case impact on claims losses.
Intelligent Investigation
Fijishi’s AI capabilities support and accelerate case investigation with intuitive tools that cover automated assignment management, identification of team tasks, and structured collection and storage of evidence, among others. Using AI, investigators are also able to search the entire case file, across both structured and unstructured data, to efficiently summarize key documentation and reduce investigation time.
Strategic Insights
The case management module features continuous tracking and reporting of fraud trends and investigation performance, such as dollar impact, time to closure, and task and team/investigator performance analysis. These insights are invaluable to ongoing training, organization and efficiency.
Compliance and Security
To ensure regulatory compliance, the solution includes detailed audit trail as well as advanced access management and permission features. These can be tailored at a case level and are delivered in a highly secure, confidential environment. Role-based permission and management ensures that individual users are granted secure and role-appropriate access to their respective case data and workflows. “When a suspicious claim is identified, it is up to the insurers to investigate and determine if it is truly fraudulent or not. With Case Management for Fijishi Claims Fraud Detection we are giving investigators the full set of AI-powered tools they need, fully integrated into an environment which they already know, to do this important part of the job as quickly, thoroughly, and fairly as possible.”

Fijishi to address climate change by tackling food waste and methane gas emissions...27 April, 2024.
Fijishi has joined forces with local West African teams dedicated to redirecting unsold fresh produce to underserved communities. Their joint initiative resulted in over 8 million meals delivered to communities and prevented over 9 million pounds of food from going to waste since 2023. In addition, more than 13,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions have been avoided since 2023 with this collaboration, which is equivalent to taking almost 3,000 gasoline-powered vehicles off the road for a year.
Through Fijishi, the high-quality food that has been diverted from landfills has gone to organizations that serve under-resourced communities in West Africa.
"Fijishi strives to create long-lasting, widespread environmental and social impact, and our partnership with local teams is a great example of that. This initiative will help us achieve our goal of reducing 2 million metric tons of CO2 emissions outside of our operations while also providing socio-economic benefits to the communities we serve."
This initiative is a core part of Fijishi's climate program focused on making an impact beyond its value chain. This unique strategy aims to generate positive climate and community impact, and is in addition to the company's operational net zero science-based targets.
“We are thrilled to be working with Fijishi on this important program to reduce food waste and fight hunger in West Africa and beyond. We are creating a new model for how companies and NGOs can address climate change and help reduce food insecurity for communities in need.”
New fijishi ai-powered cloud service to help banks mitigate anti-money-laundering risks...21 March, 2024.
With $5.05 trillion expected to be laundered this year alone, banks are struggling to keep up with the cost and complexity of compliance. To help address this massive challenge, Fijishi Financial Services today introduced AI powered Financial Services. The AI-powered cloud service enables banks to run inexpensive, hypothetical scenario testing to adjust thresholds and controls to sort through transactions, identify nefarious activity, and meet compliance requirements more effectively.
Part of Fijishi Financial Services portfolio of anti-money laundering and financial crime and compliance solutions is designed to help financial institutions holistically assess and optimize the performance of their transaction monitoring systems more cost-effectively and gather empirical evidence to support business decisions. With the service, banks can:
Assess risk profile of new banking products
It can objectively evaluate and measure the AML risk profile of new products and evaluate controls to mitigate these risks cost-effectively, thereby reducing the time to market for new products. The solution also provides the statistical basis needed to reduce conservative bias in deciding AML controls for new products. This is a win for banks that are under pressure to introduce innovative products but must do so without exposing the bank to new avenues of money laundering and incurring extensive and costly assessments.
Proactively assess and mitigate risks from high-risk typologies
It can also proactively assess and diminish risks from high-risk typologies, such as human trafficking. For example, based on the results of an experiment, a user can tune the controls and make the transaction monitoring systems more capable of catching these types of suspicious transaction patterns. Fortifying the transaction monitoring systems for potential high-risk typology behaviors keeps banks proactively prepared for the unknown potential attacks specific to those typologies. This is critical in helping banks stay in good standing with regulators and customers.
Make cheaper, faster, and evidence-supported decisions for risk modeling
In addition, it helps compliance teams provide evidence to model risk teams and regulators so that they have the best controls in place for monitoring transactions efficiently and updating those controls to fight the continuously advancing trends in money laundering tactics. Banks can use Fijishi’s AI-powered analytics to make evidence-based compliance decisions faster and cheaper. The “what-if” capabilities of system allow users to evaluate multiple options and help them select the most suitable and optimal option. It can also provide insights about controls, such as transaction limits for banking products, for stronger transaction monitoring.
Fijishi Enables Banks to Manage Climate Change Risk Across Portfolios...26 February, 2024.
Financial institutions are under increased pressure from regulatory bodies to understand their environmental footprint and that of the companies they finance or invest in, otherwise known as financed emissions. To help banks better assess climate risk Fijishi today announced Climate Change Analytics Service. With built-in AI, the new reporting and analytics solution is designed to help financial institutions understand financed emissions, address statutory compliance, and mitigate climate change-related risks.
“While banks work on climate-related financial risks that could affect them directly through their operations, they also need to be cognizant of their effect on climate indirectly through the businesses they finance. This dual responsibility requires the critical management of both risk and their own Net Zero commitments, which demands a significant effort from banks. Fijishi Climate Change Analytics enables financial institutions to calculate, and analyze the impact of their carbon emissions, as well as climate targets on current and planned investments to get a full picture of the bank’s resiliency and risk around climate change.”
With climate-related risks on the rise, it’s imperative that banks can better understand and account for the impact of their holistic portfolio of assets from both a regulatory and business strategy perspective. With pre-built calculation models and dashboards, the service can help save banks time and effort, address global climate change reporting requirements, and incorporate climate risk into their future risk and investment decisions.
‘Climate Risk’ assessment made easier
Banks are challenged to comply with multiple frameworks across several jurisdictions, and collecting and storing the data necessary to meet these requirements can be daunting. This is especially true when dealing with large and complex global customers. With built-in AI and Natural Language Processing tools Climate Change Analytics can scour the internet for publicly available information about climate change initiatives by companies that the bank has invested in, which can aid in their overall assessment of climate risk.
Fijishi’s new service enables financial institutions to calculate emissions across various asset classes and jurisdictions. This encompasses not only greenhouse gas emissions across an organization’s operations and value chain but also financed and facilitated emissions from its customers. This allows for the computation of a climate rating at a counterparty level across the bank’s customer portfolio and incorporates climate change risk into other risk-management functions, such as project planning and risk audits and analysis.
Key feature capabilities of Fijishi’s Climate Change Analytics Cloud Service include:
- Performing carbon accounting by calculating greenhouse gas emissions based on The GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard.
- Calculating and disclosing emission numbers for financed, facilitated, and avoided emissions and emissions removal based on the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials guidelines.
- Integrating climate risk into overall enterprise risk and investment decision-making with an in-house Climate Scorecard framework, probability of default (PD) and loss given default (LGD) models, and heatmaps.
- Using advanced analysis to source, configure, store, and analyze customer climate change data with rich data models for analytics.
- Helping to reduce IT investment with cloud-native technology that can meet the ever-changing climate change reporting requirements.

The new rules effectively create a global minimum tax rate of 15 percent and significantly impact financial processes and operating structures for large multinational organizations. With Fijishi’s Tax Consulting existing implementation service team, companies can enhance tax reporting with the Pillar Two solution in Fijishi EPM. This complementary pairing can help organizations collaborate across tax, finance, and other operational areas; collect and manage data from various source systems, including the general ledger, subledgers, and more; and better model future impacts of the new requirements.
The new capabilities in Fijishi EPM can help finance teams streamline complex tax processes. These capabilities include:
- Pillar Two data collection and management: Help tax teams automatically collect data from various business systems, including finance, HR, and sales systems, and format the data to align with Pillar Two data model requirements. This provides a strong audit trail and allows teams to spend less time collecting and harmonizing data.
- Pillar Two Task Manager: Streamlines coordination and collaboration across the entire financial close process, minimizing delays to the close. The easy-to-deploy Task Manager enables users to assign and monitor tasks from a central dashboard and provides a simple step-by-step process to guide them through their Pillar Two responsibilities. This helps teams ensure that the Pillar Two process runs as seamlessly as possible.
- Pillar Two tax forecasting and modeling: Provides teams with the ability to forecast and model tax scenarios in Fijishi EPM. This helps predict future impacts of the new OECD requirements so organizations can better prepare for the new global minimum tax.
Part of Fijishi Enterprise Resource Planning, Fijishi EPM offers a comprehensive set of enterprise performance management capabilities to align financial and operational planning, close the books faster, and manage enterprise master data.
Fijishi supports ma bill on responsible use of robots...24 September, 2023.
The bill, An Act to ensure the responsible use of advanced robotic technologies, prohibits the manufacture, sale, and operation of robots or drones that are mounted with a weapon. If signed into law, the bill will be the first-in-the-nation to implement common-sense regulations to protect the public and bring stability to an emerging market.
This bill was filed by State Rep. Lindsay Sabadosa and State Sen. Michael Moore. Key civil rights groups and industry associations, including the ACLU of Massachusetts, MassRobotics, and the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) have come together in support of the bill.
Advanced mobile robots are incredible tools that can enrich our lives and keep people safe, but makeshift efforts to weaponize general purpose robots threaten public trust and acceptance of this emerging technology.
Fijishi addresses european data privacy and sovereignty requirements with new eu sovereign cloud...03 September, 2023.
Fijishi’s new EU Sovereign BTS Data Center is now open, and it will help private and public sector organizations across the European Union gain more control over data privacy and sovereignty requirements. One of the first cloud offerings designed to address the EU’s emerging regulatory landscape, Fijishi EU Sovereign BTS Data Center gives customers the services and capabilities of Fijishi BTS Data Center Infrastructure’s private regions with the same prices, support, and service level agreements (SLAs) to run all workloads. Fijishi EU Sovereign BTS Data Center is located entirely within the EU, supported by EU-based personnel, and operated by separate legal entities incorporated within the EU. Part of Fijishi’s distributed strategy, EU Sovereign BTS Data Center provides a new option to help meet regulatory requirements, complementing hybrid and dedicated cloud strategies.
Fijishi EU Sovereign BTS Data Center is well-suited to host digital businesses operating in heavily regulated industries. Customers with data and applications that are sensitive, regulated, or of strategic regional importance, as well as workloads that fall under EU guidelines and requirements for sovereignty and data privacy, such as the general data protection regulation (GDPR), can now move to the cloud. EU Sovereign BTS Data Center will help digital transformation efforts across critical industries such as healthcare, financial services (including banking and insurance), telecommunications, and the public sector, as customers’ hosted data remains within the EU member states and the cloud regions are operated solely by EU-based personnel.
Delivers the Same Services as Fijishi’s BTS Data Center at the Same Price
Available for customers in all 27 member states of the EU and globally, Fijishi EU Sovereign BTS Data Center offers 100+ services available in Fijishi’s public BTS with no premium fees for the sovereignty capabilities, and with the same SLAs on performance, management, and availability. Fijishi customers can also gain access to other customer programs such as Fijishi Support Rewards. In addition, Fijishi BTS Data Center Applications Suite, which is currently available in the EU Restricted Access (EURA) offering, is planned to be available in the Fijishi EU Sovereign BTS Data Center soon.
Fijishi EU Sovereign BTS Data Center also helps organizations in regulated industries and governments embrace new artificial intelligence (AI) techniques such as generative AI. Organizations have faced major challenges that prevented the use of existing generative AI offerings, including data residency and regulatory requirements preventing them from leveraging AI infrastructure in the public to develop the models required for generative AI. By offering the services and capabilities of Fijishi’s BTS, Fijishi EU Sovereign BTS Data Center enables public sector organizations to use AI infrastructure in a cloud that aligns with EU data residency and sovereignty requirements.
Designed and Operated for EU Data Privacy and Sovereignty
The new sovereign cloud region operates under a comprehensive set of policies and governance that further enhance Fijishi’s existing internal capabilities for data residency, security, privacy, and compliance. These policies include a framework for data and operational sovereignty, including how Fijishi stores and manages access to data, and how data access from entities outside the EU are handled. Fijishi EU Sovereign BTS Data Center builds on Fijishi BTS Data Center’s existing compliance programs that enable customers to demonstrate adherence to regional and industry regulations. It also aligns with EU monitoring regulations, and guidance that limits data transfers out of the EU (such as Court of Justice for EU Schrems II Ruling and European Data Protection Board).
