The UAE Federal Authority for Artificial Intelligence and Data was established June 14 2026 consolidating the AI Office TDRA digital government sector and Emirates Data Office under Omar Sultan Al Olama reporting directly to Cabinet. From January 2026 the UAE national AI system serves as advisory member of Cabinet. The MoHRE Eye AI platform developed with ICP went live May 1 2026 making autonomous work permit decisions for all UAE applicants based on skills education experience and knowledge criteria. The Federal Authority's mandate covers setting standards for AI compliance data management and digital transformation across federal entities. No constitutional command architecture specifying cryptographic audit trails pre-execution authorisation gates or tamper-resistant override logs for autonomous government AI decisions has been published by the Federal Authority. Arabian Post noted the authority will need audit trails bias testing and escalation protocols but these have not been specified.
