How Juris works - Juris has no fixed product. It provides forensic case support for one named matter, fixed in scope when counsel instructs it.

When Juris is instructed

  • A Fijishi Certification finding – a Kill-Switch Certificate or a Baseline Review – becomes part of the evidence in a legal or regulatory dispute.
  • A firm is facing, or expects, a dispute about an AI system's decision and needs the technical record reconstructed, whether or not a Fijishi Certification finding is involved.

What Juris provides

  • Case structuring: aligning the technical record, or a Fijishi Certificatio finding, with the evidentiary requirements of instructing counsel.
  • Evidentiary reconstruction: where the underlying records are fragmented, disputed or need corroboration before they can be relied on.
  • A case file: the technical evidence and a chronology of the decision, structured for counsel's use in the proceeding.

Who instructs Juris

Licensed counsel acting on the matter – outside counsel, or a firm's in-house legal team – for a firm, including insurers and reinsurers.

Fee

The fee is fixed when the matter is instructed, before any work begins. It does not depend on the outcome of the matter. There is no fee for an initial conversation.

Every Juris engagement is for one named matter and is fixed in scope.

What Juris does not do

Juris does not practise law. It does not give legal advice, does not appear as counsel of record and does not represent any party before a court. Its role is forensic case support for licensed counsel already instructed on the matter.

Where a matter involves a Fijishi Certification finding, Juris works from the finding as issued; it does not revise it.

Firewall

  • Juris does not accept an engagement adverse to a current Fijishi client, or one that challenges a finding Fijishi issued for that client.
  • Juris does not accept an engagement against a company named in a Fijishi Index entry on the subject of that entry.

These are standing policies, applied before any engagement is considered.

If you don't have a live matter yet

Juris is worth knowing about before you need it, not after. Counsel and risk teams working on AI, data-protection or technology disputes are welcome to write simply to understand what Juris does. No engagement is expected or solicited from that conversation, and it has no fee.
