Start an engagement - For firms, including insurers and reinsurers, that want an independent finding on an AI system or an AI contract.
What to send
Write to protocol@fijishi.com with the subject line "Engagement: [firm] - [system or contract]". Include:
- the AI system or contract, and the decisions it is used in, such as underwriting, claims or credit;
- the rule or standard it must meet, if you know it;
- any deadline, such as a regulatory examination, a renewal or a contract signature.
If you are not sure which product fits, describe the system and the rule. We confirm the right scope at intake.
We sign a non-disclosure agreement with you before any material is shared.
What happens
- Reply: We reply within 5 business days.
- Intake: We confirm which product fits, the named rule or standard the work measures against, the documents we need, the scope and the fee. The fee is fixed at intake, before any work begins. Intake has no fee.
- Your decision: Work starts only once you agree the scope and the fee.
- The work: A Fijishi Constitutional Assurance (FCA) or FSDA engagement ends in one finding: whether the system or contract meets the named standard and, where it does not, what is missing. You own the finding outright; there is no ongoing dependency on Fijishi to interpret or maintain it. A Juris engagement provides forensic case support to your counsel.
If Fijishi is not the right fit, we tell you directly.
One engagement can cover a system used in several jurisdictions. The scope names each requirement the system is measured against, and the finding states the result against each one separately.
What we need from you
- One named contact, and one technical lead who knows the system.
- Two to four working sessions of about 90 minutes each.
- Read access to the system's documentation and to samples of its decisions - or, for a Procurement Pre-Signature Review, to the contract and its annexes.
An engagement is scoped for three to six weeks from agreed scope to finding; a Kill-Switch Compliance Certificate, for 1-2 weeks once documentation is provided. The time is confirmed at intake.
Your team keeps ownership of its systems and data.
Fijishi takes a limited number of engagements at a time, so that both founders work on each one. We aim to start within two weeks of agreed scope.
What you can start with
- Kill-Switch Compliance Certificate (FCA): one named AI system, tested against one named override or human-review requirement.
- Constitutional Baseline Review (FCA): one named system, assessed criterion by criterion against a named standard in force.
- Procurement Pre-Signature Review (FSDA): one AI contract, read for override, IP and upgrade independence, before or after signature.
- Juris: forensic case support when an AI decision is disputed, working to the instructions of licensed counsel. Juris does not practise law.
Engagement principles
- A non-disclosure agreement is signed before any material is shared.
- The fee is fixed at intake (or, for Juris, when a matter is instructed), before any work begins, and does not depend on the finding or, for Juris, on the outcome of the matter.
- Where an engagement produces a finding, the client owns it.
- Fijishi's liability is capped at the fee paid for the engagement.
- Indian law applies.
What this is not
- Not an open-ended retainer. Every engagement is fixed in scope.
- Not legal advice, and not regulatory approval. A finding is Fijishi's independent assessment, not a certification by, or approval from, any regulator.
- Not a software purchase. Fijishi does not sell or deploy AI systems.
- Not a route into the Index. No one pays to appear in the Index, and no one can pay to change an entry. Index corrections are made only on public documents that anyone can check.
Independence
- The fee for every engagement is fixed at intake, before any work begins, and does not depend on the finding. Fijishi does not certify a system it helped design or build.
- Each Index entry states any commercial relationship Fijishi has with a party named in it.
- We do not sell or pitch to any regulator or government the Index covers.
